When you visit firedash.us and any related sites (including online.firedash.us, resident.firedash.us, risk.firedash.us, and developer.firedash.us) or use any of our applications (collectively, the "Services"), you trust us with your personal information. We take your privacy very seriously. In this privacy policy, we seek to explain in the clearest way possible what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have in relation to it. If there are any terms in this privacy policy that you do not agree with, please discontinue use of the Services.
This privacy policy applies to all information collected through the Services and any related sales, marketing, or events. Please read it carefully — it will help you make informed decisions about sharing your personal information with us.
In short: We collect personal information that you provide to us when you register, contact us, or use the Services.
We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you register for an account, express an interest in obtaining information about us or our products and services, participate in activities within the Services, or otherwise contact us. The personal information we collect depends on the context of your interactions with us and the Services, the choices you make, and the products and features you use, and can include:
All personal information that you provide to us must be true, complete, and accurate, and you must notify us of any changes.
In short: Some information — such as IP address and device characteristics — is collected automatically when you use the Services.
We automatically collect certain information when you visit, use, or navigate the Services. This information does not necessarily reveal your specific identity but may include device and usage information, such as your IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, referring URLs, device name, country, approximate location, and information about how and when you use the Services. This information is primarily used to maintain the security and operation of the Services, and for our internal analytics and reporting purposes.
Like many businesses, we also collect information through cookies and similar technologies. See "Do we use cookies and other tracking technologies?" below.
If you use a mobile application or grant the Services permission to access your location, we may collect precise or approximate location data so that we can show nearby hydrants, route you to a job, or attach location to a report you submit. You can revoke this permission at any time in your device settings.
In short: We process your information for purposes based on legitimate business interests, the performance of our contract with you, compliance with our legal obligations, and/or your consent.
We use the personal information collected via the Services for a variety of business purposes described below:
In short: We only share information with your consent, to comply with laws, to provide you with services, to protect your rights, or to fulfill business obligations.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.
In short: We use cookies and similar technologies to operate, secure, and analyze the Services.
We use cookies, local storage, web beacons, pixels, and similar tracking technologies to: (a) keep you signed in; (b) remember preferences such as your last-viewed map area; (c) measure traffic and analyze usage of the Services (for example, Google Analytics); and (d) detect and prevent fraud or abuse. Most browsers allow you to refuse to accept cookies, but blocking all cookies may impact your use of the Services.
In short: If you choose to register or log in using a social media account, we may have access to certain information about you.
The Services may offer the ability to register and log in using third-party social media or single sign-on account details (for example, Google, Apple, or Microsoft). Where you choose to do this, we will receive certain profile information about you from the identity provider. The profile information we receive may vary depending on the identity provider, but will typically include your name, email address, profile picture, and other information you choose to make public.
We will use the information we receive only for the purposes that are described in this privacy policy or that are otherwise made clear to you on the Services. Please note that we do not control, and are not responsible for, other uses of your personal information by your third-party identity provider. We recommend that you review their privacy policy to understand how they collect, use, and share your personal information.
In short: We may transfer, store, and process your information in the United States.
Our servers are located in the United States. If you are accessing the Services from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed by us and by the third parties with whom we share your personal information (see "Will your information be shared with anyone?" above) in the United States and other countries.
If you are a resident in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, these countries may not have data protection laws as comprehensive as those in your country. We will, however, take all necessary measures to protect your personal information in accordance with this privacy policy and applicable law.
In short: We are not responsible for the safety of any information you share with third-party providers who advertise on, or are linked from, the Services.
The Services may contain links to other websites, online services, or mobile applications that are not affiliated with us. We cannot guarantee the safety and privacy of data you provide to those third parties. Any data collected by third parties is not covered by this privacy policy. We are not responsible for the content or privacy and security practices and policies of any third parties. You should review the policies of such third parties and contact them directly to respond to your questions.
In short: We keep your information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this privacy policy unless otherwise required by law.
We will only keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this privacy policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting, or other legal requirements, or department records retention obligations imposed on a department customer). For resident accounts, this typically means as long as the account is active, plus a reasonable period thereafter to address legal or operational needs. Operational records owned by a department or agency are retained for the period required by that department or agency's records retention policies.
When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize it, or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.
In short: We aim to protect your personal information through a system of organizational and technical security measures.
We have implemented appropriate technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. These include encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest where applicable, access controls, logging and monitoring, regular security review, and least-privilege practices for personnel access. However, despite our safeguards and efforts to secure your information, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat our security and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify your information. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, transmission of personal information to and from the Services is at your own risk. You should only access the Services within a secure environment.
In short: We do not knowingly collect data from or market to children under 18 years of age.
We do not knowingly solicit data from or market to children under 18 years of age. By using the Services, you represent that you are at least 18 or that you are the parent or guardian of such a minor and consent to such minor dependent's use of the Services. Information about minors may appear in records (for example, as part of a household roster in a resident account) only when entered by a responsible adult account holder, and is treated under the same protections as other personal information. If we learn that personal information from users less than 18 years of age has been collected outside of these conditions, we will deactivate the account and take reasonable measures to promptly delete such data from our records. If you become aware of any data we have collected from children under age 18, please contact us at legal@firedash.us.
In short: You may review, change, or terminate your account at any time.
If you are resident in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom and you believe we are unlawfully processing your personal information, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection supervisory authority.
If you would at any time like to review or change the information in your account or terminate your account, you can:
Upon your request to terminate your account, we will deactivate or delete your account and information from our active databases. You can unsubscribe from our marketing email list at any time by clicking on the unsubscribe link in the emails that we send or by contacting us using the details provided below. You will then be removed from the marketing email list, but we will still need to send you service-related emails that are necessary for the administration and use of your account.
Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and mobile applications include a Do-Not-Track ("DNT") feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. No uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this privacy policy.
